planning application (12/00758/FUL) has been submitted for the site of the Fairmile Inn,
44 Biggar Road
The
proposal by Craigdon Mountain Sports is to demolish the existing building
and erect a mixed use development to include retail, offices,
cafe/restaurant and ancillary workshop with adjoining residential flats
all with associated car parking, revised access arrangements, ground level
remodelling, landscaping and boundary treatment.
An application has been submitted by Miller Homes to
erect a residential development with associated parking, landscaping,
footpaths and open space on land to the east of Winton Gardens
The area concerned is
within the Green Belt and the Morton Mains Conservation Area. The land is
also agricultural and was specifically excluded for house building by the
Edinburgh City Local Plan and this was confirmed on appeal.
